Maxxis envisions the new Maxxis Forekaster as the perfect companion for long, pedally rides in a variety of terrain. When an Aspen isn't enough tire but a Minion is too much, choose the new Maxxis Forekaster for e-MTB adventures. This version is aimed squarely at modern short travel (100mm-130mm) trail bikes and the downcountry segment. Intended to be a Goldilocks tire, it rolls faster than a Minion or even the Dissector but provides more predictable cornering, climbing, and braking traction than the Aspen or Rekon.
The 3C MaxxTerra compound is an intermediate triple compound configuration used across the Maxxis mountain tire line. It offers more traction than 3C MaxxSpeed, yet provides better treadwear and less rolling resistance than MaxxGrip, making it ideal for trail riding in all conditions. The EXO+ puncture protection option is suitable for all-around trail riding and light weight e-bikes. This includes a durable 60 TPI casing, the legendary EXO puncture protection layer in the sidewalls, and a small butyl insert around the bead to ward off damage from rocks and roots while protecting against pinch flats.
Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tires offer better traction, lower rolling resistance, and fewer flats by eliminating the inner tube. These 6cm (2.40") sizes are optimized for rims with an internal width of 30mm-35mm. All tires in the e50 e-MTB range pass EU regulation ECE-R75 certificate, which is a certification given to tires that pass stringent safety regulations governed by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.
